MCLENNAN COUNTY (February 14, 2013)--At least one school in McLennan County will benefit from a grant awarded by the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation in the fall of last year.

Grants totaling $3,300 were given out locally and will be used this spring to fund a variety of projects like playground and gym repairs along with classroom supplies.

The grants were awarded to K-12 public schools to assist with parent-initiated school improvement projects.

“By supporting schools in Texas, we are rallying behind a cause that is important to both our customers and employees, and we’re hoping to build a stronger foundation for the children who will be tomorrow’s employees, homeowners and community leaders,” Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation Chairman Marshall Croom said.
