ROBINSON (April 30, 2013)—Robinson residents were quick to step up in the aftermath of the deadly April 17 explosion in West, contributing clothing, toiletries, canned goods and gift cards.
So many items were donated that the city is now accepting only canned goods and gift cards, which may be taken either to City Hall or the Police Department.
Public Works Department employees performed smoke tests of sewer lines in West to check for breaks and leaks and also inspected manholes.
“The department was happy to help in any way,” Public Works Director Randy Seat said.
“For the amount of destruction I’ve seen, I couldn’t believe none of the lines were broken.”
