ROBINSON (August 31, 2012)--After a water main break Friday morning led to a water outage, officials have issued a boil order for residents.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued the order for all customers in the areas of Surrey Ridge, Sun Valley Industrial Park, Greig Drive from Hamilton Heights to Sun Valley, and Moonlight Drive from one mile east of Schaeper Lane down to Surrey Ridge.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

Officials will notify citizens when the boil order is no longer necessary.
