ROCKDALE (January 8, 2013)--The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in partnership with Milam County Emergency Management will present a SKYWARN severe weather program in Rockdale on Monday.
Participants will learn about thunderstorm formation and tornadoes and will leave better equipped to determine the severity of storms.
They will be taught to recognize warning signs of severe weather as well as nonthreatening clues that are often mistaken for significant features.
Monday’s storm spotter training will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Rockdale VFD meeting room at 301 N. Wilcox.
The program is free and open to the public.
Advance registration is not necessary.
