SALADO (February 26,2013)—An accident involving an 18-wheeler Tuesday afternoon in Salado caused a diesel fuel spill that took several hours to clean up, backing up northbound traffic on Interstate 35.
The 18-wheeler hit a crash cushion while entering an on ramp and lost its front axle.
The accident closed down one northbound lane and traffic was moving at about 15 miles per hour past the accident site.
The accident scene was cleared by 7 p.m. and traffic was beginning to unsnarl.
