TEMPLE (August 8, 2014) A house in which fire broke out Friday afternoon in Temple was a total loss, officials said.
The fire was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Friday in the vacant house at 1020 South 12th St.
The first crew on the scene reported fire and heavy smoke.
The flames quickly burned through the roof, firefighters were ordered out of the house, and a second alarm was requested.
The fire was under control by around 1:15 p.m.
The house was heavily damaged by fire and is considered a total loss, officials said.
The cause is under investigation.
