TEMPLE (July 4, 2014) Temple's Railroad & Heritage Museum will have some tips on how to beat the heat Saturday.
Saturday is Beat the Heat Free Family Day at the museum in the Santa Fe Depot at 315 West Avenue B.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. museum visitors can get some tips on how to stay safe from the sun’s rays and the summer heat.
"We want to encourage families to adopt good habits during the summer, such as limiting their time in the sun and also stressing the importance of wearing sunscreen,” said Museum Director, Stephanie Long.
Activities will include an indoor balloon volleyball game, summer-themed crafts and a lemonade stand.
Barrel train rides will also be offered, dependent on weather.
Admission to the event is free, but regular admission is charged to explore the rest of the museum.
