TEMPLE (December 6, 2012)--A Temple man was sentenced Wednesday to federal prison after he earlier pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
U.S. District Judge Walter S. Smith sentenced Larry Dale Reese to serve 10 years in federal prison, to be followed by five years on supervised release, ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine and $100 in special assessment to the court.
A federal court document says in June Reese became the subject of an investigation by agents of the Texas Attorney General's Office who were conducting undercover, online investigation involving child exploitation offenses.
Reese at the time was a registered sex offender in the State of Texas.
On July 11, investigators with the Texas Attorney General's Office and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation served a federal search warrant at Reese's residence in Temple.
A forensic search of a laptop computer seized during the raid revealed numerous images and videos of child pornography.
