Temple: Man Robbed At Gunpoint At Local Laundry

TEMPLE (November 5, 2013) Temple police were searching Tuesday for a gunman who threatened a man Sunday night and demanded money.

Temple police spokesman Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said officers were sent at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday to North 3rd Street at West Garfield Avenue after a caller reported he had been threatened with a gun.

The victim told police he was approached while at a coin laundry by a man carrying a gun, and said the gunman demanded he hand over all of his money.

The gunman was black, 25-30-years-old, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, weighed about 180 pounds and had short hair, police said.

In a news release Wilcox said general investigations officers are continuing to investigate the incident but no additional information was released in order to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation.
