Temple: Man Robbed At Knifepoint In Local Neighborhood

TEMPLE (April 3, 2013)-Temple police were looking for a suspect Wednesday in connection with a Tuesday night robbery.

Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said officers were sent just before 11 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of South 9th Street and West Avenue H after a caller reported a man had been robbed.

The 64-year-old victim told officers he was walking in the area when he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim, who was not injured, told officers the robber threatened him with a knife.

Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

The robber was black, about 5-foot-8 and weighed about 240 pounds, police said.

He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt or jacket.

A witness said he saw the robber head east on West Avenue G.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500.
