TEMPLE (October 4, 2013)—The Temple City Council has approved a plan to provide shade structures for playgrounds in
South Temple Park, Northwest Hills Park, and Freedom Park.

The installation will be provided by We Build Fun, Inc. of Allen for the cost of $70,600.

Shade structures were recommended at all new playgrounds and for retrofitting over existing playgrounds once funds are available.

"The shade structures for these park playgrounds are needed as South Temple Park and Freedom Park are currently void of older shade trees," said Parks and Leisure Services Director, Ken Cicora.

Children will be able to enjoy the shaded play areas beginning in spring 2014.
