TEMPLE (January 15, 2013)—Temple police are working to determine whether a convenience store robbery Monday night and the early morning robbery of a fast food restaurant Tuesday are linked.
The first robbery occurred at around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Shell station at 2512 South 5th St.
The victim told officers that three men entered the store while he was cleaning up and displayed handguns.
One demanded money and the three ran west with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was hurt.
Two of the men were black.
One was 6-feet tall and was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black mask and the second was 5-foot-11 and was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a white mask.
The third man was either white or Hispanic and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a white mask.
The second robbery occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Whataburger restaurant at 115 North General Bruce Dr.
The victim told officers that three men entered the store, demanded money and then ordered employees to lie on the floor while forcing the on-duty manager to open the registers.
The men escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
As in the first robbery, two of the men were black.
One was wearing a blue and white hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, and the other was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black mask.
The third man was either white or Hispanic and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a white mask.
