TEMPLE (October 1, 2013)--A Temple teenager was sentenced to deferred adjudicated probation Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an underage girl.
John Kevin Sancedio, 17, was sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudicated probation after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Deferred adjudicated probation means if Sancedio successfully completes his probation term, he will not have a final felony conviction on his record.
The victim, who’s younger than 14, reported she was raped as she slept after drinking alcohol at a party in August 2012.
The girl told Temple police a boy who was also at the party told her he had sex with her after she fell asleep at the party, an arrest affidavit said.
The boy later told police he didn't know the girl was younger than 14, the affidavit said.
