TEMPLE (June 28, 2013)—A man and a woman were arrested Thursday after Temple police officers and Bell County sheriff’s deputies discovered stolen trailers and vehicles while serving an outstanding arrest warrant earlier this month in the 400 block of Bottoms East Road.
During the warrant service on June 14, officers spotted two recently-painted trailers and when they checked the license plates, they were advised both were listed as homemade trailers without vehicle identification numbers, Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said Friday.
But on closer inspection, officers determined that both trailers appeared to have been commercially produced and the ID numbers destroyed or removed, he said.
The trailers were impounded and investigators later found a VIN on one of them, a check of which showed the trailer was reported stolen on May 26 from the First Baptist Church of Temple, Wilcox said.
Officers and deputies returned to the address Thursday to execute a search warrant and discovered two vehicles that had been stolen in Killeen, Wilcox said.
Phillip Charles Franzoni, 46, and Brandi Nicole Ceballos, 34, both of Temple, were arrested and taken to the Bell County Jail, Wilcox said.
Charges were pending Friday.
