TEMPLE (April 24, 2013)--The Temple Police Department is participating in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug “Take-Back” program.

The program allows residents to drop-off unwanted prescription medications at designated locations.

Drop-off locations for Temple are the Temple P.D location at 209 East Avenue A and the Temple PD Mobile Command Unit stationed in the Scott & White Center for Diagnostic Medicine parking lot on the corner of South 31st Street and West Avenue R.

The city says this is a great way to help residents safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs accumulated over the years.

Residents are being asked to leave their medication in their original containers when they drop-off.
