TEMPLE (September 28, 2012)-Temple ISD, along with districts around the Region 12 area, was awarded the Federal Gear Up Grant.
The grant provides greater access to different programs for 7th and 8th grade students.
Additionally, it will follow the students through high school to ensure that they graduate and attend post-secondary education successfully, a Temple ISD spokesperson said.
TISD will host a community rally at the Temple High School auditorium on Thursday at 7 p.m. to explain what the grant means for parents and students.
What it takes to be a motivating parent will also be discussed and door prizes will be given out.
