TEMPLE (November 5, 2012)—Veterans enrolled in the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System are not only able to get a free flu vaccination at the VA hospitals in Temple and Waco through Friday, but can also get vaccinated without having to get out of their cars.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, veterans can make use of the drive-through vaccination clinic in Temple at the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Veterans are asked to drive through the Valet Parking area from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The drive-through clinic was started several years ago to assist veterans who have mobility problems, keeping them from having to get in and out of their cars and hunt for a parking space.

Plans are in the works to offer a drive-through clinic in Waco later in November; however, a date has not yet been set.
