Temple: Howl-O-Ween Pet Contest To Benefit Bell County Animal Shelter

TEMPLE (October 24, 2012)--The third annual Howl-O-Ween pet event Saturday will benefit the Bell County Animal Shelter.

From 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. rain or shine, six pet costume contests will be held and weenie dog races will also get underway.

Costume categories include best human and pet, most unique, most detailed, cutest and best overall.

Full and half Dachshunds are acceptable as a weenie dog, event organizers said.

Raffles, vendors and funnel cakes will all be available at the free event.

All types of pet food, treats, kitty litter, paper towels, trash bags, puppy or kitten food, bleach and Dawn dish liquid will be accepted for donation at the event.

Pets should be on a leash and up-to-date on vaccinations.

The fun will be held at 4153 Shallow Ford West Road.
