Temple (February 1, 2014) - The Olympic Spirit came a little early to residents of Temple today. As part of their monthly family day event, the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosted a Winter Olympics celebration.
Olympic themed games and activities were set up all over the museum. Kids could make their own Olympic Torches and medals, as well as get their picture taken on a winner's podium.
Visitors could participate in a speed skating race by gliding across the floor on paper plates.
Various trivia booths were set up across the museum to spread knowledge of the history of the Olympic games. One table featured a concentration-like game to test your memorization skills.
After getting their fill of Olympic fun, kids could step outside and ride a mini-train around the grounds of the museum.
The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosts a family day the first weekend of each month. Upcoming events include "Invention & Discovery Day" in March and "Transportation Family Day" in April.
