TEMPLE (November 21, 2012)-- The City of Temple is telling residents that American Water Resources of Texas, an independent water service line insurance company, is soliciting business from area residents and is not affiliated with the city.

A letter from the company may look like it is coming from the city but city officials say they do not support, provide or endorse this product.

“The content of the letters may suggest to some that this has something to do with the city’s utility division and that simply isn’t the case,” Director of Public Works Nicole Torralva, P.E. said.

The City of Belton has a similar advisory for its residents.

The city advises residents that HomeServe, also listed as a water service line insurance company, is in no way affiliated with the city.
