WACO (April 17, 2012) -- MCC and Tarleton State University held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Tuesday for the colleges new counseling center.
Through the partnership, Tarleton graduate students will provide free counseling to all MCC and University Center students.
The program will be overseen by a clinical supervisor.
The counseling center opened a few months ago above the Student Center while its new home in the Wellness and Fitness Building was being renovated.
As a result, undergraduate and graduate students will a more hands on approach to learning, while students will no longer have to be referred to counseling services off campus.
The program also moves MCC a step closer to establishing a doctoral program in counseling at its University Center.
One of the requirements for a Ph.D program is an on campus counseling site.
