WACO (October 17, 2012)--A Waco man was held Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail after his arrest Tuesday in connection with a stabbing last July that left two people injured.

David Wayne Scott, 30, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $40,000, charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Scott was arrested on warrants that were issued in connection with an incident that happened at about 6 p.m. on July 20 at an apartment in the 2400 block of South 21st St., during which a man was stabbed and a woman was cut with a knife.

A man and woman were fighting at the address and the woman’s son called his grandmother because the argument was getting out of hand, Swanton said.

The 60-year-old grandmother and her boyfriend, also 60, went to the home, which angered the man, Swanton said.

He pulled a pocketknife and stabbed the older man, documents show.

The grandmother tried to disarm the man and was cut, as well.

The 60-year-old male victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

The grandmother was treated at the scene.
