Waco: Arrest Made In Methodist Home Copper Theft

Police have made an arrest in the theft of copper from AC units at Waco’s Methodist Children’s Home.

WACO (November 8, 2013) A Waco man was held Friday in the McLennan County Jail, charged in connection with the theft of copper air conditioning coils from AC units at the Methodist Children's Home.

Noe Martinez, 51, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $10,500, charged with theft and theft of copper, according to the McLennan County Jail online log.

Waco police arrested Martinez at around 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Mitchell Street.

Officers also recovered an undisclosed number of copper coils, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Police were sent to the area after a caller reported seeing a suspicious vehicle.

As officers were investigating the call they discovered the copper coils and arrested Martinez at the scene.
