WACO (January 16, 2013)--A Waco man was held Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail after he turned himself in and was charged in connection with a September shooting.
Corey Glen Wormley, 37, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000, charged with aggravated assault, according to the McLennan County Jail log.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said the charges stem from a Sept. 15 incident that grew out of an argument over some wheel rims.
Officers were sent at about 11:15 a.m. that day to the 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue where Darin Irvin, 36 was shot once in the left hip.
He was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
After he was shot, Irvin ran about two blocks to the intersection of South 12th Street and Ross Avenue, where police found him.
The gunman fled the scene after the shooting.
