WACO (August 28, 2012)--A Baylor University coed was injured Tuesday afternoon when she was struck by a car while attempting to cross a campus-area street.
The 19-year-old student was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries to her arm, a police officer said.
The accident happened at around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of South 4th Street and Bagby Avenue, when the driver of a silver sedan who was attempting to turn left onto 4th Street from Bagby failed to see the woman as she crossed the street.
An officer at the scene said the driver was cited for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian.
