A Waco-area man with terminal cancer died over the weekend, on the same day that friends were holding a benefit to raise money to help his family with expenses.

WACO (March 17, 2014) A Waco-area man with terminal cancer died over the weekend, on the same day that friends were holding a benefit to raise money to help his family with expenses.

Steve Lowe died Saturday evening.

Friends staged the benefit earlier in the day at Harley Davidson of Waco.

Another benefit is planned from noon until 5 p.m. on March 29 at Ash’s Cocktails at Loop 340 and Industrial Boulevard.

The benefit will include barbeque, an auction and live entertainment.
