WACO (November 19, 2013) A state district court jury decided on a life sentence Tuesday for John David of Waco, who was convicted Friday of sexual assault (enhanced).
Waguespack was arrested in June 2011 after a woman reported the sexual assault, which she told police happened at his apartment.
He was indicted for two counts of sexual assault in January 2012.
On Friday, jurors found him guilty of one count and not guilty of the second.
“The jury’s swift life sentence in this case should send a strong message to all potential criminals in this county--be prepared to pay a very high price if you commit a violent crime against any of our citizens. The defendant will be required to serve at least 30 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole,” said Assistant District Attorney Amanda Dillon in a statement Tuesday evening.
