WACO (February 25, 2013)-A Waco man was being held Monday in the McLennan County Jail charged with sexual assault of a child.
McLennan County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jason Maltino Davis, 37, late Sunday.
He was ordered held on $100,000 bond, charged with sexual assault of a child, according to online jail records.
Davis was named in an indictment on Feb. 6, a spokeswoman from the McLennan County District Attorney's office said.
The original incident was reported in March 2012 after a 15-year-old girl's mother called police to report her daughter had been sexually assaulted by a man the girl knew, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Swanton said the incident happened at a residence in North Waco, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Following an investigation at the Advocacy Center, police detectives were able to identify a suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest.
Members of the U.S. Marshal's task force initially arrested Davis on December 12, 2012 outside his residence, but he later posted bond and was released from custody.
