Waco: Local Man Charged After Stepfather Struck With A Club

A Waco man was jailed Wednesday after his stepfather was struck with a club.

WACO (February 20, 2013)--A Waco man was held Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail charged with in connection with an incident during which his stepfather was struck with a club.

John Edward Collier, 36, was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Members of the U.S. Marshal's Task Force arrested Collier Tuesday in Waco on a warrant that was issued after detectives investigated the Jan. 5 attack, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Police were sent at about 9 p.m. on that date to an address on Bosque Boulevard where they found a man suffering a head injury.

Waco police detectives obtained the warrant after interviewing the injured man who told them he was struck during an argument with his stepson.
