WACO (December 16, 2013) A Waco man was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail after a family violence incident that left his wife unconscious.

Christopher Paul Jenkins, 28, was ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bond charged with aggravated assault family member and was held without bond on a state parole violation, online jail records showed.

Jenkins was arrested on Sunday on a warrant issued to Waco police in connection with a Nov. 1 incident at a residence in the 3000 block of Gorman Avenue.

Officers were sent to that address at about 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 after an emergency room worker at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center called and asked police to check out a patient who had been brought there by ambulance.

When police arrived they learned the victim had been knocked unconscious after she suffered injury to her face and head, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Investigators were able to obtain a warrant for a suspect and Jenkins was arrested Sunday on that warrant, Swanton said.
