WACO (October 3, 2013)—A Waco man was held Thursday in the McLennan County Jail after his elderly aunt reported her shotgun and other items were stolen.

James Anthony Coia, 50, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000, charged with theft of a firearm from an elderly person and theft from an elderly person and without bond on a parole violation, online jail records showed.

Coia already was in custody on the parole violation when police served the arrest warrants on the theft charges.

The warrant stems from an investigation of the theft of a shotgun, tools and other items from an elderly woman's house on June 6.

Most of the stolen items, which were pawned at local shops, have been returned to the owner, police said.
