WACO (December 4, 2012)--A Waco man was arrested early Tuesday morning after his indictment for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Latobia Saviour Brown, 20, was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday after his arrest for evading arrest and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
A judge ordered Brown held on a $3,000 bond for the evading charge and he was being without bond on the aggravated sexual assault after his previous bond was forfeited.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said sheriff’s deputies first arrested Brown on Sept. 20 after Waco police detectives obtained a warrant on the original sexual assault charge, but later bonded out of jail.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney's office said Brown was indicted in October and a new warrant was issued for his arrest.
Officers found him early Tuesday morning and rearrested him.
Swanton said the incident in which Brown is charged happened between March 17 and March 18 at a South Waco residence.
The female victim, who was between the ages of 10 and 15, made an outcry to her parents that an acquaintance of the family had inappropriate sexual relations with her and the parents reported it to police.
The victim underwent a forensic interview at the Advocacy Center and based upon that interview, detectives obtained a warrant for Brown's arrest, which was issued on Aug. 22.
Swanton said when he was located early Tuesday morning, Brown attempted to run from police and would be charged with evading arrest, as well.
