WACO (December 13, 2012)--A Waco man pleaded guilty Thursday to injury to a child after a jury deadlocked and a mistrial was declared in his trial in October.

State District Judge Matt Johnson sentenced Glenn Mark Green to five years in state prison after Green pleaded guilty.

A mistrial was declared in Green’s sexual assault of a child trial in October after jurors deadlocked.

Johnson remanded Green to the county jail because the injury to a child charge still was active against him.

Jonathan Sibley, lead counsel for Green at trial, said the jury reported it was deadlocked 11-to-1 for acquittal and Johnson declared the mistrial.

Sibley said Green was accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl almost five years ago when she was 12, but the testimony that the victim and others provided during trial was not sufficient to produce a guilty verdict.
