WACO (August 21, 2012)--A Waco woman was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday, charged with two counts of abandoning a child.
Lucresha Ann Boney, 22, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $20,000.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said just after midnight on March 5, police were sent to a home in the 1000 block of Delano Street where officers found two young children alone inside the residence.
Officers reported there was a faint odor of natural gas inside the house.
The 3-year-old and 6-year-old children were handed over to Child Protective Services and later to their aunt.
A warrant was issued naming Boney.
She was arrested Monday.
