WACO (December 14, 2012)-A Waco man was back in McLennan County Friday, jailed on a sexual assault charge.

Clayton Berkley, 51, was ordered held on a $10,000 bond.

He was returned to Waco Thursday from Dallas County where he had been held since his arrest by members of the U.S. Marshal's Task Force on Tuesday.

Berkley was named in a warrant issued on Nov. 26 in the late May or early June sexual assault of a Waco woman at an apartment on Austin Avenue, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The victim, who was in her mid-20s, did not report the assault for some time, but when she did, detectives were able to identify a suspect and obtain a warrant.

Swanton said Berkley was living at the Oak Lodge Motel at the time of the assault.
