WACO (February 14, 2013)-A Waco man pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court after he was caught up in a federal child pornography investigation.
U.S. District Judge Walter S. Smith, Jr., set Landry Lance Smith for sentencing on April 10.
Documents presented at Thursday's hearing show that in September 2012, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were working undercover online, investigating possible child exploitation involving the Internet.
On September 10, 2012, undercover agents signed onto a file-sharing site and found images of child pornography were downloaded from a specific IP address.
The investigation led to the discovery that the computer used belonged to Smith and on October 3, 2012, a search warrant was served at Smith's address in Waco where agents seized a computer.
After a forensic investigation agents were able to determine that the computer contained several images of children engaging in inappropriate sexual activity.
