WACO (February 4, 2013)--A Robinson man was in custody Monday in the McLennan County Jail after a Belton man was brutally beaten at a South Waco residence.

Casey Allen Anderson, 21, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $29,000, charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was held without bond on a criminal trespass charge.

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said officers were sent at around 9:30 p.m. Friday to a home on South 26th Street where a caller reported two men were fighting.

The victim was beaten severely in the head and was taken by ambulance from the scene to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center suffering what police called significant wounds.

The wounds, the police report says, were caused when the man was hit and kicked in the face.

Anderson had left the scene by the time police arrived, but was later arrested near his home after a short foot chase, Swanton said.
