WACO (October 17, 2013)--Matthew James Chudej pleaded guilty Thursday in Waco's federal court to bank robbery in connection with an Aug. 9 holdup at a Waco bank.

U.S. District Judge Walter S. Smith set Chudej, 27, for sentencing on Dec. 11.

In a document filed at Cudej's plea hearing government investigators said Chudej robbed the First National Bank of Central Texas on Valley Mills Drive.

The document also says Chudej's wife Wendt Chudej, 32, acted as the getaway driver during the robbery.

Wendy Chudej was ordered held in federal custody Thursday in Judge Jeffrey C. Manske's federal magistrate court.
