WACO (January 22, 2013)—Investigators are trying to determine whether the robbery of a man Sunday night in a home in a Waco neighborhood was related to an attempted robbery of two women in an apartment parking lot earlier Sunday night.
A man armed with a shotgun confronted the two women at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the University Club apartments in the 1700 block of Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard and demanded money.
The would-be robber left empty-handed and got into a car with another person and drove off.
The robber was black and about 6-foot-2, but no other description was available.
Two hours later a 57-year-old man was robbed after answering a knock at the door of his home in the 1800 block of Pine Avenue.
The robber was also armed with a shotgun, but was Hispanic.
He was wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask, police said.
