WACO (May 8, 2014) Manny’s Uptown Tex-Mex restaurant will move into the shuttered Lake Brazos Bar and Grill in Waco and should be open by late summer, Mike Anderson the spokesperson for the Brazos River Development Corporation, confirmed Thursday.

The corporation, which is behind a massive proposed riverfront development in downtown Waco, purchased the restaurant last fall.

The popular restaurant folded after the Waco-McLennan County Health District discovered temporarily closed it down after finding significant violations.

The restaurant, which originally operated as the Miller Family Lake Brazos Steakhouse, was rebuilt and renamed after fire destroyed the original building in 2000.
