Waco: Police, Marshals Arrest Man Wanted For Child Sexual Assault

An Austin man was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail after his arrest Sunday in Waco on multiple warrants out of Travis County.

WACO (February 25, 2013)--An Austin man was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail after his arrest over the weekend in Waco on multiple warrants issued in Travis County.

Marcelino Ayala, 43, was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bond on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child and without bond on an aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and on an immigration detainer.

Officers from the Waco Police Street Crime Unit and the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Ayala after he was identified and it was determined he was wanted on two warrants issued in Travis County.

Details of the crimes for which the warrants were issued were not available except that the assault with serious bodily injury charge involved an incident during which a knife was used.

Ayala will remain in custody here until he can be transferred back to Travis County to face the charges.
