WACO (May 2, 2013)--Two Waco-area men were indicted Wednesday in connection with several sexual assaults and incidents of indecency with children.
Ronnie Mack Barnard, 43, already was held in the McLennan County Jail on one charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child in lieu of $250,000 bond.
On Wednesday the grand jury added five aggravated sexual assault of a child charges, five indecency with a child by contact charges and three sexual assault of a child charges.
Bond on the new charges, which a district attorney's office spokesman said were re-indictments, has not yet been set, the jail log showed.
Information about the incidents was limited, but the assaults took place at a McLennan County residence in 2005 and 2006 and all of them involved the same victim, who was younger than 14 when the incidents happened, authorities said.
The grand jury also indicted Odie Sandoval Riggins, Sr., 85, on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, four counts of indecency with a child by contact and two counts of sexual assault of a child.
The incidents all happened in 1998, 1999 and 2002, records in the district attorney's office showed.
The incidents, according to Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton, all happened at a residence in Waco and involved two child victims both younger than 14.
