WACO (November 5, 2012)--Three new programs will be available to doctoral and masters students.
Two new doctoral programs are part of the School of Music program and include church music and musical arts.
Baylor’s Ph.D. in church music will be the second of its kind Ph.D. program in the nation and is designed to “foster in students the highest levels of knowledge and skill in the practice of church music and research."
The doctor of musical arts (DMA) degree will include the component of strong performance skills, a Baylor spokesperson said.
Both will be available in the fall of 2014.
A joint master’s degree in divinity and business administration will also be added to Baylor's list of degrees.
Available to students next fall, it will link the faculties, resources and education of Baylor’s internationally recognized business school and seminary.
“As religious institutions continue to morph into complex organizations and nonprofits continue to proliferate, the constituencies of such institutions are seeking qualified, competent, and well-educated individuals to lead them,” a Baylor spokesperson said.
