WACO (June 25, 2013)--Baylor University will hold a brief service of Thanksgiving followed by a Dr. Pepper float reception Tuesday in honor of all of the construction workers who have played a part in building Baylor’s new East Village Residential Community that is expected to open in the fall.

The service will be held on campus at 4th and Bagby around 3 p.m.

Construction on the $70 million, 238,715-square-foot East Village began in March of last year and consists of two our-story facilities each with about 350 beds.

The building will feature semi-suites, apartment-style living spaces, classrooms, lounge areas and a dining area.

A chapel is also in the planning stages.
