WACO (January 23, 2013)--On Saturday, Baylor University students and Waco Habitat for Humanity will raise the walls on a new home after raising $12,000 for the project.
Students from the Baylor Habitat For Humanity Campus Chapter, Kappa Omega Tau and a matching grant of $5,000 from State Farm have made the service project possible.
The new resident will purchase the home with a zero-interest mortgage and her affordable monthly payments will go towards completion of the next home.
Volunteers will pause from their work Thursday at 1 p.m. for a kick-off ceremony.
The home, on Gurley Avenue, is expected to be move-in ready in April.
