WACO (November 29, 2012)--The Be a Santa to a Senior program sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care will hold a gift-wrapping event Saturday.

Gifts like blankets, robes, CDs and hygiene items wished for by area seniors will be delivered later this month.

The program is meant to spread joy to seniors who may otherwise get overlooked this holiday season.

For the last few weeks Christmas trees with paper ornaments displayed at select Walgreens stores have given local residents an opportunity to sponsor an older adult this Christmas.

The deadline is Saturday to purchase the gifts which should be brought back to the store unwrapped.

Monetary donations are also being accepted.

The gift wrapping event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon at the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in the fellowship hall, located on South Hewitt Drive in Hewitt.

Visit the organization’s website for a list of participating stores or call Home Instead Senior Care at (254) 666-7300.
