Waco: Bikers Ride Nearly 600 Miles To Promote Bone Marrow, Tissue, Blood And Organ Donation

WACO (October 12, 2012)--On Tuesday, twelve non-professional cyclists will ride nearly 600 miles in eight days to promote bone marrow, tissue, blood and organ donation.

Each cyclist has a personal experience in regard to a donation.

Josh Canal is this year’s Lone Star Circle Bike Tour title honoree.

Canal received a new heart at age 17 and passed away less than 15 years later.

His death came last year.

His parents are riding in the tour in honor of their son.

Cyclists will leave from Beaumont and are expected to reach Waco around 3 p.m.

They will be at Outdoor Waco on S. University Parks Drive to meet and greet guests before heading on to Houston.
