Waco: Cameron Park Zoo To Present Poison Safety Safari Saturday

WACO (March 19, 2013)--The Cameron Park Zoo, Scott & White, and the Central Texas Poison Center will present the "Poison Safety Safari" Saturday.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. as part of national Poison Prevention Week.

Interactive games and activities will be used to teach children and parents to protect themselves and others from poisonous plants, animals, and other hazardous items.

Activities will include a driving simulator with "drunk" goggles, an outdoor poisons hide and seek game, a tobacco word hunt, a poster contest, and live animal interactions.

Children will also have the opportunity to win a bike by entering their name into a drawing.

The first 1,000 children will receive a free explorer backpack.

Regular admission rates into the zoo will apply for Saturday's event.
