WACO (October 9, 2012)—The National Community Development Association Region VI Conference featuring former Baylor Coach Grant Teaff will begin Wednesday.
Educational workshops will be geared toward local residents beginning Thursday.
Affordable rental housing, poverty impacts on education, faith-based initiatives, tenant-based rental assistance, academic partnerships, the unbanked, homelessness and Waco’s revitalization projects will all be addressed.
Attendees will hear a motivational speech from Teaff at 8 a.m. Thursday, followed by Waco leader Virginia DuPuy at noon.
National Circles Campaign CEO Karin Van Zant will discuss how the campaign builds learning communities that promote individual and community economic stability, healthy relationships and diverse leadership.
The conference will last through Friday at the Waco Convention Center.
