WACO (November 2, 2012)--Cyclists from San Antonio will ride more than 500 miles in six days to raise money for wounded military members.
24 cyclists will participate in support of Operation Comfort including eight active duty and retired military members and three amputees.
The ride, sponsored by Whataburger, begins Monday from Wichita Falls and will head to Fort Worth.
The group will ride to Waco on Tuesday and from Waco to Austin on Wednesday.
Each day, except the final day, will include a more than 75-mile bike ride.
The group will rest in San Antonio on the fifth day and will arrive in Corpus Christi on the 7th day.
The cyclists are part of the WOW Cycling Club.
Operation Comfort was founded to support recreational rehabilitative needs and to provide family financial assistance for service members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan who are receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center and Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio.
